Off To Boarding School [008] Awkwaaaard

As I walked aimlessly around campus, in the hopes of running into the library I couldn't help but drift to the events of the previous night.
I can't feel jealous or mad.
You can feel however you want to feel
No....I can't Ana's my friend.......James her boyfriend......that I like........and on top of all of that I think I might have some type of weird wanting feelings toward Kevin. Wow. I'm pathetic.
Worst part is I actually felt like I had a right to be mad when they came back down. Like they had done me wrong, when all they where doing is what normal teenage couples do............Feel free to intervene at anytime so-called 'conscience'
Right, but your monologue was just so intriguing. You should definitely think about taking some Acting classes.

I kind of already knew how you where feeling, you know it kind of comes with the whole living in your head deal. But yeah, I just usually tell you how your feeling, not what to do. It's not like I have much experience
I stopped walking realizing this was stupid. I mean you can't just run into a library.

After five minutes of jogging around the campus, I had given up and decided this was hopeless. I spotted a big marble fountain.
In the center was a huge sculpture of someone who I guessed to be the founder of this school. I reached for penny and threw it at his face.
This school is so effin confusing. Argh!
I sat down and contemplating my options.
Go back to dorm room...
Die...
Call Ana and/or Kevin...
Get some coffee...
Die...
Jog some more or die...
I think the most logical option would be the third one
I reached for my phone in my purse and dialed Kevin's number.
"Hey Kevin" I said as the ringing stopped.
"Hey Jenna" he whispered into the phone. "Why are you whispering?" I asked.
"I'm in the middle of class"
"Oh do you want me to call you back or something?" I asked while smacking my forehead.
Well duh.
"No, no it's okay. What is it?"
"um....Now I just feel dumb. Um do you know where the library is located?"
I could hear him trying to stifle his laughter. "Where are you?" he whispered into the phone.
"Um, sitting on the edge of a fountain with a statue of an old guy in the middle."
"I'll meet you there in five minutes"
"uh, okay"








"Hey"
I heard as I turned around to see Kevin.
"Um, Hey"
Oh gosh, awkward
He smiled at me "Jenna, it doesn't have to be this awkward. It's not like we slept together, well we did, but it was innocent."
His smile is so contagious
He placed his hand under my chin and raised my head towards his as he whispered in my ear "It doesn't have to be so innocent next time."
He gently brushed his lips against mine.
"So who are you supposed to be meeting at the library?" he asked.
"Um Ana, to have breakfast and stuff." I replied as he smoothly entwined his fingers with mine.
"Hmmmm."
This is nice. Just walking
If you were smiling any wider, your face would break in half
And I am oddly okay with that









After walking around, enjoying each others warmth, (how gay, but cute) we reached a mammoth sized brick building, which seemed as if it had been standing for ever and would never be knocked down, even by oversized resurrected dinosaurs.
"Here we are" he said as he turned to smile at me.
OhGosh. How I'm I supposed to find Ana in this?!?!?!
"Want me to help you find Ana?" he asked as he looked at me with an amused expression on his lips.
"Don't you have to get back to class?" I asked while playfully shoving him.
"English can wait" He replied as he smiled at me, I couldn't help but smile back.











As we arrived in one of the library's many cafes, we found Ana with her eyebrows raised a little too high.
"Hmmmmmmm, so you guys leave home together yesterday, and today you walk in holding hands? Be careful Kevin, I think Jenna's trying to seduce you" she said as she eyed our entwined hands with an entertained look on her face.
"Well I guess I''ll see you later" I said as I turned to say bye to Kevin.
He caught my lips with his, in one swift kiss that showed to anyone who was looking that he was claiming what was his.
I smiled as we parted.
Hmmmm, such a change from the usual scum you date
"Uh, are you okay Jenna?" Ana asked worriedly.
"Um yeah, why do you ask?"
"Well your face seemed to have clouded over"
"Oh, nothing,just you know... dwellings of the past" I said dismissing it." So, what about you and James yesterday, ey? You two looked quite cozy." I asked trying to change the subject.
Ana's boyfriend, Not yours remember?
OF COURSE I DO!!!!
Why would you even be thinking about him when Kevin's so great? You know the past doesn't repeat itself all the time.
Enough with the guilt trip
"Oh no no no no no. First things first, what happened with you and Kevin last night?" she asked with her eyebrow raised.
"Well I don't know what happened. I mean I do, quite aware of it actually...but eh..."
This earned me another eyebrow raise from Ana.
"No! No. Not like that, we didn't do anything. Gosh I don't know how to explain it and now I'm rambling and oh no." I inhaled. "Well, I don't know. Its that with him, it just felt like we didn't have to be talking or doing anything physical, we could just be there and still you know enjoy it."
She smiled at me "That's exactly how I feel about me and James"
Great! Note the sarcasm.

Ana's Point of View
Yeah right, Note the sarcasm. I wish it was like that between me and James. Lately it just seems as if he wants more out of things and I just can't satisfy him.
He's just too good for me. He needs someone deep, more advanced. I just hope it takes him some time for him to figure that out.
"Well enough about my night. What happened with you and James?" Jenna asked with honest interest.
"Well um. Remember what we were talking about before we went?"
"Yeah........?"
She's hanging on my every word.
"Well mission accomplished." I said.
Why did I lie? It's just Jenna.

What's wrong with me?



Jenna's Point of View
I lost my appetite.
But James seemed so innocent. Guess not.
"Well, um, I'm happy for you?" I replied with uncertainty in my voice.
We began to laugh.
"Oh God" Ana finally said as she wiped a tear from her eye, "That was awkward".
I smiled at her.
"So what class do you have to go to now?" Ana asked as she began to gather her things.
"Um, I'm not sure.I think I'll need to head back to the dorm, I mean if I can find it, and get my schedule." I said as I smiled at her.
"Well do you need help getting there?"
"I think I'll find it myself. Thanks anyway." I replied as she turned away.
"Sorry I have to leave. Class in five minutes" she yelled over her shoulder, causing everybody to look back at me.
I bowed my head and ordered a cup of coffee and decided to people watch for a while.
I chose a table by the windows and settled down comfortably.
