Loving A Friend ( A Daniel Radcliffe Love Story) Part 1



You woke up on a Saturday morning. It was the first day of your three week winter recess. You scratched your hair lazily as you slowly rolled over to face the clock on your nightstand. It read 11:57.a.m.
*Oh snap! It’s really late.* you thought.

You heard footsteps coming up to you room. Whoever it was knocked calmly on your door.

"Are you awake honey?" It was your mother’s voice that came from behind the door.

"Yes!" You answered sleepily as she walked inside.

"Peggy is going to the mall right now. Why don't you tag along?” she suggested. “ Marlyne’s going with her" she added encouragingly.

However that bit of information influenced your refusal of the idea, Marlyne was nothing short of a traditional brat! And the truth was you weren't really in the mood for shopping, and since you weren't ready you knew Peggy wouldn't wait for you to get ready: She's like time, she waits for no one!

“I think I’ll pass Ma!” you mumbled as you rubbed the blurriness out of your eyes.

“Alright. Well I'm taking Ricky to the doctors and your father is playing golf with Alan (yes Alan Radcliffe, Daniel's father).Your brother and I will be back around 5:00.p.m.There's pancakes on the stove. Oh yea and Jacquelyn called you."She informed you closing the door behind her as she exited your room.

You sighed as you slid off your queen sized bed and forced yourself completely awake. You grabbed a towel from your closet, walked into your bathroom, brushed your teeth, washed your face, and showered. You got dressed in a blue screen T-shirt that read "What The Duck", dark jeans, and your white sweater.

Upon hearing the rumble of your belly you decided maybe it was time to head downstairs and get some food.

*Oh yeah! I have to call Jackie! That’s right! What time is it anyway?* You thought looking down at the watch that Daniel got for you on your birthday(which is June 12)

*12:51.p.m.Ok* you thought as you sat on your bed and took your cell phone off it's charger.

You dialed Jackie's number, that you knew by heart, even though you had her on your contact list and speed dial #2( since Daniel is #1).


(Your conversation with Jackie)
She answered on the second ring."Y-ellow!"she answered animatedly.

You:"Yea! It's me. You called?" getting right to the point.

Jackie:"Yes! I did. I was calling to ask you something, but it's too late now anyway." she said in a teasing way

You:*sigh*"Tell me! Please?" begging.

Jackie:"No it's nothing important! I already know."

You:"Whatever"

Jackie:"It is so cold!*burrr*

You got up and walked to your room window.
You:"Your right. I can't wait till it snows!" you say happily.

Jackie:"Yea. You can't but I can! I hate it when it snows."

You laughed: What are you doing anyway?"
you asked walking out of your room and going down the stairs.

Jackie:"hmm? Oh uh.. you mean besides talking with you? Let me think!" she said with massive sarcasm" NOTHING!! I am bored stiff! How about you?"

You: "Hahaha! I'm going to have brunch." with a fake British accent. You hadn’t quite developed a real British accent despite the fact that you lived in England for the better of 7 years. "I'm home alone right now. We should do something today."

You placed two pancakes on your plate from the pan on the stove.

Jackie:"Uh..actually, I kinda have plans to go to dinner with my family. Sorry. I don't even wanna go to be honest!"

You:"It's okay. I’ll just find something to do by myself." You poured chocolate onto your pancakes.(You love chocolate by the way)

Jackie: "Well there's always Daniel who is next door to you, which is a plus!"
You had the strongest feeling that she was smiling while she was saying this.

You:"Hahaha! Very funny, I think he has work today anyway."
Just then the doorbell rang. You got up from the table, having finished your pancakes, and made your way past the family room and to the door with your cell phone in your hand.

You:"Hold up Jackie. Someone's at the door."

You opened the door to reveal.....

To reveal...a slightly shivering.

"Hello." He said in that deep British that you love so much.

"Hey Dan! Come on in!" You smiled trying not to laugh because you and Jackie were just talking about him; it was as if he came on cue!

Daniel walked inside, took off his coat, and made his way to your family room on his own. That wasn’t strange though, your home was his home and vice versa.

You could hear Jackie laughing from on the phone. You put the cell phone back up to your ear.

You:"Hey Jackie! Dan’s here."

Jackie:"Well speak of the devil! Hahaha! Well I'm gonna go then. I have to get ready for tonight anyway. Call me back when Dan leaves if it's before 7:30 ok? Bye.” she said this so quickly that you couldn't even answer, not to mention bid her a proper farewell in return. (unless you count saying bye to the dial tone as proper!) You flipped the phone closed and put it in your back pocket.

You made your way to the family room and where Dan was there sitting on the couch.You took in his appearance. He was wearing a black polo T-shirt, and a pair of blue jeans.
"What's up?" You plopped down casually next to him (with a seat's worth of space)

"Nothing really. I was just really bored and I figured you would probably be home so I decided that I should come by." He said simply looking at you.
"Oh so I'm just a last resort when you're bored huh?" You asked pretending to be offended.

He laughed at your response. You loved his smile."Yea! Pretty much." He said with sarcasm.


"Hey!" You punched his arm playfully with a smile.

 "Ouch! You know that really hurt!"
